Post Damn..

Looks like one of my demills when I'm on the hooch.
AK builders has trigger guards and rear trunions are still out there.
Your going to have to spend a few more bucks on furniture and those parts, but if you put time and effort in that weapon it is fully salvagable.

a good canidate for a screw build. 1/4 x 28 hardened machine screws, carefully drill out the rivets centered on a drill press, tap the holes and you should be good to go. I have several w/ these screws and no problems what so ever. Hopefully the holes arent too far off center. I dont know about welding on a trunnion, many say its not a good idea.

why ? if there is a good weld it will be ok . i've welded up messed up parts and re-machined em and they were fine so long as there is a good weld . so you have to be a good welder to do it . you cant just burn and prey

That's not a general ar15.com sale, it's an exception to the norm. I've bought many an item over there, with never a problem.

While I'm not an ar15.com regular user, they do offer a lot to the community. Gunco is where I hang my "hat."

Ditto the above. Crap can be sold anywhere and the same goes for premo stuff.

+1 on both of the above. I have bought stuff from over there and not had any problems like that.
My dad always said that when you do stuff like that to people it'll come back on ya three fold. I have found it to be very true. He will get it back eventually!

Its salvagable. I wouldn't beat your self up over it.

Once its built and refinished, you probably could not tell it from a properly demilled kit.

That does suck. Hopefully the barrel isn't to bad, if not it can be built.
I think you need to post this guys screen name (I know he can always use another) so others can avoid this guy.
Hope you can at least get some of your funds back.

I found the ad in the EE. Here it is: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Two warning signs I see right off the bat that make me walk away regardless:

1- Vague rambling description- he even goes on about the kit being built on an NDS receiver- if it was already built (or partially built) then why did he go through the supposed trouble of not finishing the job? Obviously he screwed up and is selling his mistake. That's not the only warning sign in his post, but it's the most obvious.

2- This EE ad is this guy's FIRST AND ONLY post, and he joined in April '09

You're lucky you even got anything IMO

It is salvagable though I think.

No need to beat yourself up over it as long as you learn from your mistake (and hopefully others learned from your mistake as well).
