Default AK-Builder does it again!

I just got the new AK-Builder deluxe flat bending jig from Curtis. I ran it through its paces this weekend. I must say it is a dream to bend flats on.

As you can see its black anodized which is very cool looking but of course does nothing for functionality. I just think it looks cool!!

This setup came with the new top rail step. Two magnetic pieces that connect to the main jig body. A new top stepped jig.

With this setup I was able to bend my flats perfectly side to side. Then bend the top rails into a position where the new stepped jig was able to bend them even more.

Three step process that took about 5 minutes each flat!

New improved jig is awsume!

All my AK's flats were bent from that same jig... they are for sure the best quality.

Thumbs up

I have one of Curtis's earliest jigs (before they came with alignment pins, probably in the 1st 5) and I just ordered one of his new ones to do some of my last kits with and probably to rebuild some of my earliest work.
Can't wait to try that stepped top rail jig!!!!

I've got one of the first batch of jigs that had the step down, only the step down die is black. I've lost track of how many flats have gone through it, it's been worked hard during at least two build parties plus all my builds and my buddies, and it still looks and works like new.
