Default AK-Builder's TG rivet drilling jig

While I was doing the review on Curtis's upper rail jig, I figured I'd do a quicky on His TG demilling jig.

Being a tool junkie and always on the lookout for a better way of doing things, I bought one of the jigs.
I have done many TG demills, all successful, all a pain in the butt. This little rig cuts the time required by 2/3rds.

I'm not sure if I was doing something incorrectly, but I found that to get the jig to sit properly (square & flush) I had to cut a little groove in the side of the jig to clear the rivet. It took only a minute with an angle grinder and rat tail file.

After this quickly mod, it worked like a charm. Maybe Curtis will chime in and explain what I was doing wrong.

All in all, another great time saver from AK-Builder

+1 Maxx, that thing is awesome. I demilled my entire AMMS kit with it. If you hold it tight and are carefull, you can center drill every rivet with it. It goes way beyond just the trigger guard. The very slight angle that you encountered is not a big deal as the drill is smaller than the rivet shank. Being that the tool is only case hardened you may have problems in the future where the holes poked through.
