Default amd-65 build kits

help me out here guys, I've been reading thru and decided that a build of an amd-65 would be challenging, but..... what's the whole story about Centerfire Systems and Clearview Investments , both selling amg-65 parts kits , noticing that they both "share" the same street addresses and that their parts kits both differ in price somewhat -- as to not toss the money to the wind , are they both reputable companys to deal with and does anyone know why the same address, any does the quality differ as much in the pricing from either ....

Thanks for the welcome to the "club" appreciate the response , I have seen mention of Lois in some of the threads and was wondering the whole connection connection there , at least we all have a connection on the inside to steer us straight , I've been here "lurking" for almost a month and deciced to sign on here, at which I have caused some interest around this neck of the woods as to "building our own" with some friends around here. The newbie lounge is always wealth of info for us beginners to see how much it actually takes , oddly enough I've got most of the equiptment around here to start one out with little addtional investment in tools, just a wife that says "what , not another gun !!!" to get the ideas past ....

It's a long road trip to here ... southern Wisconsin , right along side Lake Michigan ...... so at this point the on line tutorials work the best

Clearview and Centerfire are owned by the same people.

Nothing shady, they will freely tell you that.

not to steer you away from Lois and Centerfire... she is awesome to deal with, and Centerfire is a reputable outfit... however, all things considered, you might want to check out the deal at TAPCO, they are selling the AMD-65 kit (excelent condition), a G2 fire control group, and barrel extension as a combo deal. prices being what they are for each thing individually, this might be the way to go... I waited until they were on sale, and bought the combo deal that I just described for 89 bucks. I'm sorry, Lois, you know we love you, but that's a deal I couln't refuse! I think the regular price for this deal is 109 bucks, still a good deal.

I did see Tapco's combo deal , just not brace enough to start bending flats for a first build is all ... thought the Centerfire kit and an Ace pre-bent would work out better for a starter .. then maybe make that step up to attempting to bend a blank with limited knowledge and jigs... was thinking of trying to build a jig though since the mill and lathe are just sitting around gathering dust right now... thanks for all the input and yes, Lois I'll be giving you a call to get me set-up as a beginner, even though tapco might get some of my money for the future build..

I don't think so... it's smoking, but on the tires.
