Thumbs down beware Classic Arms

I ordered a Romanian parts kit from the fine people at Classic Arms.
According to their online advertisement, this was supposed to include a G2 trigger group. It was priced higher than a bare kit, but was still a good deal for the money ($130), I thought.
So I get the package from them and there's no trigger group except the original one from Romania. Believe me when I say this is NOT about the money. I mean, it's a very nice kit. I would grade it VG to excellent. But when I called about the discrepancy I was told "oh that's unfortunate. We meant to change that on the website."
Well I've got a better idea. LIVE UP TO WHAT YOU CLAIM OR DON'T CLAIM IT. Hell I should have known better than to deal with any outfit in Charlotte. (end of rant)
Be careful if you deal with these people and make sure you walk through exactly everything you are expecting them to deliver before you get off the phone. A word to the wise is always sufficient.

I had the same problem with a Romak I bought from them. The picture showed accessories that they did not ship. This included a mag pouch, and cleaning kit that I never did get.

They said tuff luck. They dont have it and they aint getting it.

interesting info. I've ordered from them in the past with no problems and everything as advertised. But then again I've never ordered a parts kit or rifle from them.

I'm not too keen on Classic Arms either. I bought a K-98 a few months back that was advertised with pristine bore. I realize these are C&R rifles but the bore was far from pristine. I know I could have sent it back and they would have made good on the deal. The rifle was still okay and shootable but the reason I bought from them is that they listed the serial number as a pristine bore. Earlier I'd bought another K-98 from them with an excellent bore - the bore really was more like a good rating.

It left a bad taste in my mouth so I shy away from Classic Arms now. I read others have had good luck with them

Did any of you contact classic arms and let them know how you felt?

Naw, wasn't really worth it to me. The rifle shoots great and other than the bore being below expectations I was happy with it. I'm sure they probably would make good on the original deal, to me just not worth the trouble and expense to ship it back and the subsequest FFL transfer cost. It's a good rifle, just not up to what I was told it would be. If it was that big a deal to me I'd return it for an exchange but like I said, just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I hear you Illya! Kind of the way I feel about CFS & MGS. Had bad taste from both of them. Many places overrate their products. But at least I let them know and even sent some back. I figure if they aren't shipping me what they promise they can be returned and on their dime!

I've never bought from Classic. But they do have my C&R . I'm a little surprised at these posts, as over the years I've gotten the impression on the forums that they were one of the " Premium" vendors. I thought he only sold the cream of the crop. Maybe I got that impression from reading on his website! In other words, I'd be dissapointed with anything but the finest after reading his buildups. Maybe that's part of the problem?
