Default Builder Suggestions.

I dont know if this is appropriate here , if not Mods please delete, move, do as you think best fit. Heres the situation...

I've recently determined that I don't want to assemble my 74 sidefolder. It took me a long time to come to this conclusion, but I really dont want to do anything wrong with her. I have a feeling shes going to end up being my most favorite, and so I think I want to send her off to the most proffesional of proffesionals and have them treat her and me to a first class stress free build.

That being said, im looking for recommended builders. I would most appreciate responses from people who have actually had a first hand experience with the people they are refrencing, specifically regarding full kit assembly.

Of course at the top of my list so far is ORF.

Thanks a million gentlehumans.

You can see Jnewt NFA. I sent him a pile of junk last year. An old romanian underfolder with mismatched parts that I had done a weld job on. My first build you could say and he tore it down fitted it with a 1.6 mm receiver and sent me back a safe queen. The finish was and is perfect it's never failed to cycle and the furniture was done perfect also. I'm getting ready to send him my Bulgy 74, side folder for all the above reasons. I highly recommend using a 1.6 mm receiver for the build on a special 74 and the extra work involved is well worth it. Tolerences on the 74 are much tighter with the smaller cartridge than a 47 and with the 1.6 receiver, milling must be exact. He's the guy that does it right. No fanfare just excellent work. Turn around time was great also. 4 weeks from my door and back.

From the pictures i've seen of his builds, i'd recommend jnewt too. He built the contest giveaway ak from july if i'm not mistaken. He has an interesting habit of picturing all his builds in the grass of his lawn. lol

Hey! Welcome to the board Exothermia!! great place to hang out.

Im affraid my 74 is going to have to wait now guys.. Ever since I was assaulted on the front porch of my house my mind has kinda shifted to home protection. A 700.00 Saiga will put a major crimp in my ability to do anything else for the moment. I have however printed out this thread and am sticking it with my kit. When I need it the info will be available.

Thanks alot for the recomendations.

I heard over at another board that jnewt isn't taking on any new builds until '06 since he is now only building part time at 1 build per week.
