Has anyone called them recently? seems like no one is answering the phone, and also, if i buy a parts kit, is credit card charged immediately or when they ship?

When they ship... it's really hard to get ahold of them and my AR-15 upper has been on order since 4 Dec 08. They said 60 days back-order... we'll see.

They're probably just swamped just like all the other ar15 people. They took out a much bigger add in the shotgun news which I bet has drawn more orders as well. I'd keep calling if they're the ones you want to order from.

Well Model1sales did finally ship. So while I am a little disappointed in the overall delay, I understand the market forces. They did honor their price on the upper and once it gets here, I will be a pretty happy camper as my receivers for my AR pistol is on it's way too!

I just ordered another kit from them on Monday. All I've received from them was an order confirmation. We'll see how long it takes.

I've bought a total of 6 kits and uppers from them in the past. I always received them very quickly, but these were all before the election.

While we're on the subject. I'm building an M-4 clone. All I really needed was an upper receiver, bolt carrier and barrel. The barrel is $200, an upper receiver is $135 and the bolt carrier is $125 for a total of $460.

For $465 I could get a complete upper. This would give me a M-4 hand guard, charging handle, Delta ring, gas system for only $5 more. So I'm thinking that's the way to go.

But wait a minute. For $510 I can get a complete kit. this would give me a lower parts kit, collapsible stock, PG and buffer assembly for only $45 more, Hell the LPK alone is worth more than that.
Bottom line is that for $50 more than the price of just the barrel, upper and BC, I got a complete kit. It just doesn't make sense to buy it any other way.
Sure, I ended up with a lot of extra stuff that I don't need right now, but it's worth way more than the extra $50, it cost Me. I just couldn't pass it up.
