Ordered yugo kit, as described, communication good. Packed very poor. All the parts were put in one plastic bag and put in a box with a few chuncks of hard foam.

I've ordered twice from Robdog. He's first rate by me. Was the kit damaged or did you think it should have been packed like a tiffany lamp..

No not packed like a tiffany lamp, just packed like a $250 kit. Not like a bundle of steel.
The triggerguard was bent, I was able to straighten it without breaking it. An old newspaper is all it takes and a couple extra minutes. I have not and will not ever send anyone a kit packed the way I received this one. It is only common curtsey. I expect it to be pack in a way as to arrive as it looked in the pictures. No extra dents and scrapes on the wood plastic or metal. His picture didn't show a bunch of gun parts stacked in a pile.

C404,

Ok, did you talk to him about it before you posted this to give him a chance to make it right or are you just flaming him? I think that giving a person a chance would be a common practice on a great board like this.

PM'ing or emailing the seller to try to work things out is always best.

That being said I know the kit you got from me was packaged in bubble wrap and survived UPS damaging the box.

of course foam in the box is better than the parts put in a box to bang around and getting one with a barrel sticking through (happened to me a year or two ago).

I contacted him via email and his response was sarcastic. So I decided I would let others know how his stuff was packed. Sniper69 your kit was packed beautiful, could only wish everyone would pack stuff that way. When I sell things I pack them the same way. Robdog's kit was packed with a few pieces of white strofoam that did basically nothing. I could hear the parts rattling together before I even opened the box. Newspaper is cheap, if he would of used some to take up the extra space in the box, It would of been ok, and using a little more to wrap the larger parts in before throwing them in the plastic bag would of been great. Not much to ask for. This is the third kit I recieved like this. THE OTHER TWO WERE NOT FROM ROBDOG. They were New kits thrown in a plastic bag one without any packing and the other with two walmart plastic bags as packing. One guy even asked me to give him a good review. Would of if the kit was packed properly. Not to get side tracked but posting how poorly things are packed may get people to take a little effort and do it properly.

If I'm buying a $1000 scope, I want proper packing. If I'm buying a kit, I kind of expect a bag of parts unless the kit is in perfect condition from the seller, in which case it should be properly packed. I made a purchase from Pirate and he took the extra time to wrap each piece in bubble wrap. Very impressive. That was a lot more than I expected. Keep in mind that most rifles were in need of refinishing long before they got cut in half. Most people assume that the builder will blast and refinish to his liking.

Default Bottom line

The bottom line is if you buy something from someone they should pack the item so it arrives in the same condition as it was advertised. Its not rocket science, just common curtsey.

C404,

Good point, hummm maybe a tutorial on how to pack stuff for shipping. I think that the trader rating is a place you can spank the bad ones. I go with the golden rule as a rule of thumb.
