Default Romanian kit from AIM

Just a heads up on what I got from AIM yesterday.
This kit was $82 dollars on the AR15.com group buy. I'm pretty happy with it for the price.
Kit is not like new, but it's in pretty darn good shape. A little honest wear, kinda dirty in places, and a couple of spots of rust here and there, nothing serious except for the muzzle break. It was rusted on tight, I had to put the barrel in a vise, and a small pipe wrench on it to get it loose, that's after soaking in Kroil all night too.
After wiping off the dirt and light rust spots it looks good, bore is bright and like new, and the wood is pretty ding free, with a little scorching on the stock wrist.
Numbers are not matching.
It came with one mag too.
That's some pretty red bakelite that PG is made out of.
Here's a look:

I got one too, They torced the rear kind of crappy but the front was really nice. They got to close to the wood with the torch, don't know if it burnt past the shelac yet or not, I'll look tonight, they got pretty close to the selector stop too, probably be okay. The front end looks saw cut and is really nice. (maybe the front and rear on this kit don't go together? No numbers on the rear????) all numbers match and it was $90 to my door. It is at least as good as my kit from centerfire, that is if below the shelack the rear stock looks good.....
I keep getting these swurley brown grips......

Numbers are not matching.
That sounds like the exception to these kits. I bought 17 of them from AIM and every single one I've went through so far the serial number on the charging handle, bolt and trunnion have all matched. I still have 4 more to open up and check out. I forgot to check the top cover serial number on some of them before I boxed it back up but of the ones I did only one didn't match.

TheOtherOne, did you get your kits through a group buy? Just curious.

Most of them. I ordered the first ones straight from AIM's web page and then someone on here pointed out the group buy on AR15.com so I ordered a bunch more through that.

Default I got three...

I bought three of them in the AR15 group buy. With shipping worked out
to about $86 each. All were saw cut front ends with torch cut rears.
I too could find no numbers on the rear, and based on finish of stock,
remaining receiver stub, I believe the back halfs are not matching
with the front, but all of the front end was matching numbers.
Two were lightly used, and one was brand new with the oiled paper in
the barrel. Also came with one mag, which makes it an even better deal
when you think about it. These were all brand new 30 rd mags. Not a
mark or scratch on them. I wanted more, but couldn't scrape up the
bucks...

All in all a great deal though.

I picked up two of these also without the pistol grip. I never checked the back halves, just made sure the action and barrels had matching numbers. The barrels had oiled paper in them and look as if they had never been fired. On the other hand the stocks looked like they had been left outside for 10 years with the varnish flaking off like a snake skin. I was real happy with them, and wished I would have ordered more. Stocks are easy to fix or replace.
