Default Warning on ssr85c-2

I had another call today on another one of these rifles blowing up from improper headspace when assembled in Bulgaria. I have had approx. 12 of these rifles come through here with this problem.

The problem is the bullet guide on some are set to far forward causing the barrel to stop against it before proper head space can be accomplished and I don't believe these have been test fired.

If you have one of these rifle PLEASE verify it's head space!!!

Of course the importer doesn't return calls or email on this matter.

Also means it was never head space checked either.

No. These are rifles made in Bulgaria from cut up Bulgarian military surplus Type 3 AK-47s.

They take the majority of the AK-47 (milled) parts and stick'em in a stamped receiver. They're imported here and given US parts for compliance reasons and sold.

Armory USA originally imported them (with no -suffixes) (and the quality was good).

Lately, the quality has gone down hill (TGI is the current importer - and we know how they like shortcuts). Some have been sold with incredibly corroded parts.

I went to Knob Creek several weeks ago and the kits were there for sale early Friday morning. They were sold out by that afternoon. A buddy who I went with bought one before they sold out and he got a good kit with no problems as far as corroded parts or crappy barrel. $265.00 was the asking price at the time!
My kits were purchased years ago for less money when kits were cheap and as new.
