Default Your input is needed

I've been looking at the DPMS Panther 308 long range sportical for a few years, and would like you input on the quality and accuracy of this rifle.
Classic Arms sells them for $899.95. Can they be had for a better price elsewhere. Any Information would be nice.

I have an AR-10A2. I love the rifle. Only thing that I regret was not gettign a flattop for a scope. Ammo price of .308 sucks as well.

I am in the process of building a DPMS style 308... I think the price is right but I wanted a 20 inch barrel with 5r rifling so I decided to build mine.

I went with the mostly DPMS parts and a tactical machining 80% 308 receiver. Just waiting on my barrel to be built and sent to me so I can finish it up. Also Magpul is selling some of their nice mags for the DPMS style systems so that is also a big plus.

My LR308 is highly reliable and deadly accurate out past 1000yds. After buying it years ago when they first introduced it, I sold my Armalite AR10's off and never looked back.

Is the TM 308 drilled for DPMS or Armalite uppers? The website didn't say but they are not interchangable.

If you are refering to the DPMS 16" Sport Tactical A3 with 2 mags, sling and hard case, R Guns has them for $840. If you want to cheap out this is it. The following is just my opinion.... An AR15 can be built in a cost effective manner to suit a users needs and wants because of so many vendor options available at competive prices. BUT IMO the AR10 can't be built with off the shelf parts in a cost effective manner cuz of the vendor issues. It is more cost effective to buy a turn key LR308 rifle with the extra mags from RGuns and removing and replacing your custom parts them selling the extras or using them on another build. I hated my trigger, pistol grip and was able to use them on another build. Those of you that don't like factory mags can sell 2 dpms mags on GB and buy 3- 4 magpuls. Last note I will admit that the RGun people are jerks on the phone but I have always received what I ordered. I can and do like building my own receivers and custom parts but not when quality parts are available at modest prices.
