Beautiful Tony. Plan on doing the same thing on one for my son and daughter this month. I will be doing my sons in dark green, and my daughter wants one in pink, but it may be a bit darker towards the red side. This years Christmas presents.

Tony, was the rit applied in the same way you descibed in one of my threads a couple months ago, using rubbing alcohol as a base? And secondly does the tung oil finish change/darken the stain any when applied?

I picked the rifles up today; two romanians. The laminated stock and handguards should look great once bleached and stained. Plan on starting the project this weekend.

yes, it's Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing)...It dries very quick which was nice because you can see what it will look like in about a minute. Just keep with it 'till you get the right color you want. I used half a 1 pint bottle of the alcohol so it wouldn't thin out to much. Play with it a little first on some scrap wood to get an idea. The Tung oil is very thin so use a lint free cloth to apply. It won't look like much at first but keep appling each day (after lightly scuffing with 0000 steel wool)
