.308 AK bolts have a 3rd lug on the bottom, to aid in holding the extra pressure. I believe(but hadn't checked) that the trunion diameter is very close, if not identical, .906".
The exception is the Yugo which has a much beefier trunion and bolt. It needs to be found out for sure, but the M76 and M77 Yugo .308 sniper rifles are suposed to have 2 lug bolts. If that is the case then it could be a possible donor for parts.
My Dad and I are looking into this as well....
Sang, please share when you find out - I've got a .308 barrel just screaming to be put into a new build.

The trunion pics Rhino posted from his Saiga .308 helped out too. The saiga trunion seems over-built to me, even when you consider the width needs for the .308 mag.
So what mags do you guys think would be good to use for this?
I think a .308 AK would be nice to have.
I'm thinking the FAL mag may be the best because it tapers in the front. However the G3 mags are about $3 a peice used condition. They are square in teh front though and it doesn't seem they will fit in an AK trunion very well.
I have FAL mags, G3, Galil .308. I would like to get my hands on an M14 mag to see how it compares to the rest. I bought the Galil mag at Knob Creek just too look at and the body is very much a copy of a G3. The top is like a stretched AK mag.
Here at the M76-77 bolt pics and Saiga.308 bolt pics.
