A.R.M.S Scope mount on the M1A
I bought this one use from a board member on another site.
The side mounting bolt was useless and had no threads. I had an extra salted away.
The rest of the mount was in good condition.

There has been a lot of discussion about the A.R.M.S Scope mount on the M1A Springfield rifles.
They were originally engineered to fit the M-14 rifle.
The Springfield Armory female slots and the tapped 12-32 side mount holes were out of specification on many of the rifles.
The side mount slots are still capable of holding the mount securely.
There are a few modifications necessary to mate the mount and rifle.

Now use your favorite rings and scope.
Good shooting

Be sure you read the side screw torque spec correctly; it's in inch-pounds, not foot pounds! You cannot believe the number of requests I've had over the years from someone needing a new screw because they misread the spec and snapped the screw off!

Regards,

Walt
