Oven Cured Aluma Hyde II
Heated unfinished gun parts in oven at 200 temp for 30 min.
Degrease then blasted with aluminum oxide then degrease again, heated to aprox. 100 degrees and sprayed light coat with Aluma Hyde II Park Gray, dried with hair dryer for about 30-40 seconds between 3 coats.
Hung to dry for about two hours, then cured in oven on 250 for 3 hours, let cool in oven.
Removed parts wiped with 3in 1 oil and assembled.
Nice job on that.
I like the color of that Park Gray. Does it have a textured look like an actual park finish? It's hard to tell from a pic.
It has a textured look and feel.
Looks good Shooter. Have you used other products, and if so, how does the Aluma Hyde do compared to the others. I'm thinking about trying some next. Been using Duracoat for about 2 years.
Never used Duracoat.
Real happy with the price, ease of use and finish with the Aluma Hyde II.
As with most...prep is key.
Here are some pics showing texture of finish.

Only problem I had with alumahyde was I put it on took thick and it smeared on me. Once it was baked it has held up nicelly. I have not had a problem with duracoat, but I do think the alumhyde II is a little better. If only they had it at the hardware store.
