needed 1911 mag parts
anybody out there is gun land got a spare 1911 mag follower?
i was trying to tune up a follower on a metalform 1911 45 acp mag --the thing was super hard and it broke in two pieces--LOL
all the troubles you can make for yourself with a shop vice and a pair of industrial vice-grips---LOL!
and the damn mag ran perfect before i worked on the follower --turned out it was the slide stop--course i found this out after i borked the mag follower--LOL
anyway if you got a spare one drop me a PM--thanks
What type of follower is it? I'll get to diggin this evening, I have a couple different types from old mags w/ crack feed lips.

What the hell is a "mag follower?"
I have a bag full of crap .45 mags sitting here. Got tired of them not working..
Switched to "Chip McCormick" mags, for $112.00 plus shipping each..
Now they work..

hell yea i run the 10rd chips, 8 round checkmates and the 8 round metalforms i got for CDNN years ago. i got a couple italian mcgar copies that do ok i wouldn't buy them mind you -- they came with a pistol.
you would think a simple straight single stack mag would be easy to make--for $5
hell sounds like you got the 1911= to those eagle branded m9 pistol mags that CDNN was selling years ago for $5.
i been playing with a couple of them i got a couple decades ago that ain't never made it through a half full mag without a FUBAR situation somewhere.
damn el-cheapo who knows who/where mags are a scourge of all semi autos everywhere.
I found a stainless Mec-gar (I think) and one of the generic ones with the upwards dimple in the center. Both are barely used. It's hard to remember why they ended up in the spare parts box but they look to be serviceable.
If I die suddenly my wife will never figure out what all that crap is in all those boxes, I'm not even sure what some of it is.
I just tried the Mec-gar in a GI body. It's a little tight. If you use it, you may want to remove a small amount of material to keep it from binding.
PM your mailing address and I'll get them out tomorrow AM.
Joe wont say yes or no,but the mags he sells I believe are from the Checkmate company.Joe's 1911 Mag Mania - Shop
