so i ran across an SBR someone has for sale, he thinks that by swapping back in a 16'' barrel his SBR is no longer an SBR and can just sell it as a regular rifle as it's "no longer an SBR"
i do believe that once it's an SBR it's either always one or you have to file with the ATF to turn it back into a regular rifle ?
It is registered with ATF as an SBR. He can send a letter to ATF telling them he has replaced the bbl with a 16" or longer one and to remove the registration from the NFA. ATF will reply back that they have done so, now it's a regular rifle again.
does the BATF send back your $200???
