cav-arms lowers back on the mkt--
GWACS Armory Store
i have had one of these for the past few years. in spite of its plastic construction it has served well as a knock-around/test-bed/truck gun in 7.62x39 mostly though it has has an a-1 upper and various 16" car uppers on it from time to time.
the only gripes i have about it are minor. i painted mine black as it was one of the coyote tan models , now some of the paint has rubbed off.
certain mags seem to fit the mag well better than others. the fact that the take-down pins go in from the wrong side and that although it is a rifle stock it uses a small light carbine buffer and spring are slight irritations. it has served well.
i got it from DSG arms years ago i think for $90
it uses mostly stock ar-15 parts kit stuff , is beefed up in the critical stock areas and around the pins.
as far as i know of it is the only plastic/polymer lower worth having.
the rest of the polymer field ain't hardly worth the FFL transfer fee--
these are going for $190 stripped--yea it a panic price.
i would still pay $190 for one of these before i would shell out $100 for on of those other plastic "break-action lowers" as some have called them.
you could do a lot worse than owning a cav-arms lower--
