took out the thermelt follower yesterday and trimmed down a USGI green follower and put it in the mag thinking it MIGHT solve the issue the mag has with non m4 ramped uppers and fix that nose dive issue.
the good news is it helped some --the bad news is it still ain't 100% --
the mag top now swells slightly when loaded to 30 rounds. it does now feed all most reliable with 20-27 rounds in a non m4.won't strip the first round from a full or near full mag though.
it seems reliable in a m4 upper --more or less.
right now i don't know if this mag is worth the trouble. -- i may try it with 5.45x39 -
i got a few more experiments with it before i give in--
still playing around with it-- it looks like it might feed a few 5.45s
the 20s look to be able to feed 13-15+ 5.45 rounds , the 30 looks like it might do 20 rounds or more--
so they might do as a back up mag for the 5.45x39 ar-15s--
A guy on the Saiga forum got some and they jammed in use. He discovered the followers were put in backwards, reversed them, and problem was solved. Had the same problem on some Galil mags...
