killer super bacteria -what were not being told.
we have been hearing about the super flesh eating bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics for the last few years. i think the first time it hit the TV news was when it killed that fellow that made the muppets TV show.
front-line had a special on the anti-biotic bacteria last night.
so far the war against the microbe it looks like the microbe just invaded normandy!
first thing is this super bug can reproduce and spread in alarming ways. if can give its DNA to other living bacteria in the body --reproducing itself at a fantastic rate.
the other thing is the super bacteria is super easy to catch. in fact it nearly shut down the CDC run hospital in MD because it got out of ONE paitents room and infected everybody in the ward. THEN spread to other wings in the hospital. and this was the hospital where the 'experts" study such bugs and they had took every precaution imaginable.
it outbreak finally stopped --BUT it was nothing the hospital did and they do expect that little bug to be back--
the mortality rate for the super bug is labeled at 50%--but what the press leaves out is that very few people who get the bug live more than a couple years IF the survive it. the 5 year mortality rate is close to 100%! farm more pople die from this than are reported , most hospitals do not report the COD as bacteria related due to legal concerns as they try to avoid getting sued.
only one or two old old antibiotics from the WW2 era seem to work and they only work at stopping the bacteria in a tiny fraction of cases.
there was only ONE major drug company working on a new line of antibiotics , due to the economic set backs on wall-street the operation was shut down. the cost was expected to be $600 mill to $1 billion plus.
this bacteria spreads like a flu virus , you can be a carrier and infect others and not even know your infected, the bacteria is all over the third world, in the drinking water, no one knows where or how the bacteria strain came to be, it could be from the over use of antibiotics in the human population and or in agriculture.
we have a perfect storm brewing to have a major world wide epidemic of this infection.
the press and the government are looking the othe way as this is about to boil over.
