I just go with silver coins myself as many have a coin value of more than the actual silver price if in decent condition. Plus minted old coins are pretty hard to fake and are easier to use for barter if you need to,, than bars would be I'd think and what many have told me.
I don't have a ton , just some passed down from my Grandpa. In this case sense there in pretty good or better condition, it seems that they have a average value as coins of around 30-32 bucks,with some rarer one's being worth much more,, but silver value is only at spot price. At least that's what I've been told by a local numismatist that looked at them recently so I could get a insurance value for them.
