Russ milled down a block to my dimensions and I marked it out to make sure all my measurements were correct before going any further.
Now it can go back to Russ again.
The measurements I posted before have changed.
I was able to shorten my block to 5/8 now and some of the measurement in my pics weren't correct.
Cool build Kenny!!!! Keep posting!!

Glad I had my friends C53 here for repair. I took the HK trunnion measurements from it.
The hand guard spacer will be 1/4 inch thick at the bottom and the radius will match the hand guard grip stop radius.
(Going to use a 3/4 ball nosed cutter for this.)
I'm also going to order a hand guard hanger from RTG http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/HK...EW-72p1938.htm
(I'll heat the hangers metal strap and use a tapered line up pin to stretch the strap .040, so it slips over the Saiga gas block)
The O.D. of the Saiga gas block (where the gas tube hangs from) is. 0.705
The I.D. of the Galil gas tube is. 0.675
I need to turn down 0.015 material from the sides of Saiga gas block, so the Galil gas tube will fit on it.
(I might just do this with a hand file). ???
The raised casting on the top of the gas block (gas tube stop) will be removed.
The HK hand guard support ring will sit flush with the shoulder and be the new gas tube stop
P.S. When I cut down the HK front sight to fit the Saiga gas block, the front sight I.D. was too big.
I just squeezed it a little bit at a time in my vise, till it fit snug on my gas block.
Super nice. I like that.. Bit back a thread going on the short pistol builds. For ammo, Tiger ammo won hands down for the best flame..
Super great work..
I don't have any Tiger ammo, but I do have almost 2 cases of Yugo 7.62x39.
On to the next thing.
The O.D. of the Galil gas tube body (without guide rails) is .940
The valley of my Romy trunnion is .875 wide.
I need to cut a notch and remove 0.0325 of material off both sides of my gas tube, so it will fit in the front trunnion valley.
Gas tube is fit to front trunnion and rough cut to length. (Length will be figured out when hand guard spacer is finished)
New M92 barrel showed up today also.
I drew up a sketch of a idea I have for a new style "guide rod assembly".
I know the other guide rod guns work just fine, but I might try something different.
I think I'll add a weld on full length on top rail, like Jeff did on this weapon.
I sent turbothis a e-mail about getting a full length top rail made for my AK PDW.
He said he could/would make one. No problem.
