    Default .45 ACP krink pistol

so ive been toying with the idea of a .45 ak and i cant decide tommy gun mags or grease gun mags? i like the idea of the thompson mag because i would be able to make a last round bolt hold open and use a grooved peice instead of having to fab a magwell BUT the thompson is double stack at the feed lips and the grease gun appears to taper to single stack at the feed lips which would make for an easier build.

I would think the greasegun mags are the way to go, you could buy a MAC-10 grip tube and use that as the magwell. Just weld it on, grind off the grip screw lug to eliminate the second handgrip" AOW issue, and use the factory mag release parts. The MAC tube was designed to require the stops on the greasegun mags be lowered slightly (so you have to buy "special" MAC mags @$30 instead of surplus M3 mags @ $10) but a slight shortening of the tube sides will make stock mags fit fine.

Where are the Greasegun magazines? The usual sources don't show them in stock; perhaps I'm not searching correctly. ETA the ones I find are $25-35...

    Hi hcpookie,
I bought 5 new mil-surplus M3 grease gun mags from Numerich Gun Parts last month. I think they still have some in stock. Here is the link:

Will, I really miss my Volunteer Arms .45. That was a fun gun. Like a dumba$$ I traded it for a unissued Polish underfolder kit. Oh well. I like the idea of using the M3 greasegun mags though.
