Default Zack Sobiech (Very brave young man)

I just wanted to share this story with people who never heard of Zack.
I fish in the area of where Zack Sobiech lived but I never had the chance to meet him.
It's too bad, he was one of the bravest young man I ever heard of.

When Zack was told he was going to die, he turned to music to express himself.
    This is his song "Clouds".
Please take the time to watch the video, as it tells the story of Zack.

That's impressive. Thanks for posting that. I watched the one you posted, then I watched this one as well:

It's 5000 people in a "chior" (including his Mom.) at the Mall of America singing "Clouds" in his honor. It gave me goosebumps.

    First, thanks for the reply!
Zach and I both had our lives changed in Nov 2009, but I'm still here and I'd like to do something for the terminal children with this dreadful disease.

My idea is a gun raffle with all the proceeds going to the make a wish foundation. http://wish.org/
The raffle money would go to help a little terminally diseased boy or girl do something special.
(Wouldn't that be nice and make you feel proud?) Your helping a child and entering a chance to win a rifle at the same time!

The gun community always gets a black eye with the media and this is our chance to shine.
Can anyone point me to someone who knows how to setup a charity or help me with this?

Kenny, that's an awesome idea! I'm in. Not sure who would know how to set up a charity raffle, but I can ask around.

    Please do.
I've sent out several emails and texts to different people in the gun industry and the son of one of my best friends, Pastor Dave Harris who passed away.
I'm hoping someone will contact me back with some kind of charity info.

I was contacted by my buddy Aaron at VT Tactical https://vtsupply.com/ this morning.
He sent me this link http://www.thefundraisingauthority.c...ur-non-profit/ and offered parts for a custom build.

OK, so is there a specific 501C-3 organization that you are wanting to work directly with? They could be the "parent" for one of the crowd funding sites, with the proceeds going directly to them via the crowd funding websites system. That way you as an individual stay out of the revenue stream, which makes it easier. Then cordinate the "prize" side of the issue.

I wanted the funds to go to the make a wish foundation. http://wish.org/
The idea I have is to be able to help terminally ill children do whatever they want, like go to Disney Land for a example.
I like the idea of the proceeds going directly to a fund raising website.
I'm thinking a AR rifle as the prize?

Good foundation. I've always like Make -a-wish. An AR would be a nice prize. What would really be cool (at least to me) is to have all the parts to assemble a quality AR but with an 80% receiver. A "do it yourself" AR kit with top shelf components. That would make shipping easier, and I would think that several AR based parts companies would be happy to donate a piece or three here and there to go towards a good cause.

I've been holding these a few years for a friend.
I can ask him if he's willing to donate one to a good cause.
