Pretty nice setup.
I recently decided to build my AMD-65 sidefolder via the screw method. As I was drilling out one of the old rivets in the rear trunion, it occured to me that the rivets pass all the way through. I simply soaked the trunion in oil and using an old drill shank, a bmf hammer and a "nut support" (ala barrel removal method) I knocked them both out.
I imagine that if I had a vise or a press, I could have done the same thing.
I know this is an old thread, but does anyone still have the pics of the setup?
Sorry the pics are long gone, but the jig was simalar to AK-Builder's jig and works the same way. Here is a link to it.Originally Posted by SNAKEBYTE
Have you checked the library section?
There are tutorials in there regarding rivet removal.
It would be nice if the posted pictures were resized and uploaded directly to the thread so that they would not be lost as happens with hosting services. Anyway to suggest that to the forum members? Because...without pictures, this thread is worthless!!
i agree, I'd like to see the picts.
Come on guys the original post was from 2004 I don't expect Gunco to keep every picture ever posted. If I have a interest in seeing a picture again I know all I need to do is ask & someone will usually post it again or post a link.
