    Default PAP M85NP Rework

I decided to rework a PAP M85NP. This one uses AR mags etc. I went LBR (long barrel rifle) vs SBR.
Feels good so far. I need to refinish the front end or the whole rifle and pin the FSB.
I'm not sure what buttstock I will use. Leaning toward a CNC Warrior tubular bolt -on type. I already have a few underfolders so maybe something different and easy to attach.
The TAPCO mags it came with and the one in the pic fit and feed nicely. The aluminum milspec are pretty tight in the mag well.
Pretty good deal for $419 from Centerfire from two months ago., Backorder finally came in. I may sell the take-off front end or build something else with it. Dunno yet?

looks nice... why the change? did you have to change pistons for that set up?

& the all important question... what ya gonna do with the left over parts?

I wanted a full length barreled rifle with a chrome bore and like the AR mag idea. Not real big on barrel extensions, stock-less pistols or the arm brace. Though I may get one someday.,

Gas tube is a cut down (shortened) old style Zastava M76 tube. Gas piston is standard.
Had to lathe the rear of the RSB journal to allow the rear setback on the M85 pivot block to align correctly.
Gas block is standard AK74 fitment with no mods over existing barrel gas port.
Turned down the rear most .050" of the FSB journal about .004" for the RSB to align even with the muzzle.
Had to relieve the bullet guide front shelf and the lower outer rear surface of the barrel to allow it to setback in the unique M85 barrel/bullet guide mating.
Headspace and all the rest was standard. It is a Bulgarian CLHF barrel. I purchased two for relatively inexpensive., one populated with SLR components that I stripped off for $120 and another stripped for $110 at Knob Creek.

Dunno what 'll do with the front end. I could likely get back a sizeable hunk of the pistol cost by selling it or parting it out etc. Dunno right now?

What I'd like to see is a pic from the top with mag inserted and topcover, bolt carrier removed.

Yea, I'm calling dibs on that front end.

Looks like an interesting change. I think it is calling for a Russian side folder stock.

Looks good Blue. You always display excellent workmanship. I like the magwell on that. What brand is that one?

Ditto on the triangular side folder. I think it would look really nice on there.
