    Default PKT/M build & tips

lots of you that i PM/post with know that this has been underway....

finally far enough along to share it with you & not be a long time from completion.

didnt really do a build tutorial on this at WG, just more of a regular garage build with some tips & shortcuts for anyone wanting to do this.

not sure how many people here are into these or even considering trying it, but if theres interest? i'll put the whole thing here.

so lets run this backwards & show you where im at currently, then if theres questions... will post more as needed.

The PKM is my favorite MG to shoot. You're a bad, bad man for doing this to me.

ha ha... all my pipefitter buddies here at work tell me the best tip for my welding is to stay an Asbestos Worker. :-0

porosity is always my problem. my welds are strong & they stay.. i just always need to make them pretty afterwards. lots of you guys can make a weld pretty as you do it & not need any finish work.. thats not me.

    but lets dive into this:

random collection of some things i did with a good PKT kit from a member who lost interest, some PKM parts, our TEC Tactical FCG & FP set up, MikieD PKM ammo can bracket & a Prexis barrel with some super fancying up from Theredneckengineer!

thats the basic group of stuff.

so changes made: its now closed bolt, hammer fired, PKM buttstock set up & a fancy conversion for the front to have a bipod (remember this was a vehicle mounted, electronic solenoid fired MG)

    questions:

SPrat, yes my old friend i ride you when your not building... cause honestly.. your more fun to post with when you have a project going on. :-) & ive always got a build underway.

555th: i got this kit from another member, not sure which outfit it came from, but THINK it was Apex. Barrel is from Prexis/Jestism with a redneckengineer custom weight/size reduction trim/fluting. you'll see that barrel when he gets it back to me. :-)

Surly: YES PKM's are my favorite MG now days. ive got a couple SA's. 1 built on a TEC Tactical receiver, 1 Marcomar & we have the TEC Tactical postie you see here on GUNCO.

since all of these guns are slightly different & i change something with every build, i dont give guaranteed numbers, locations... but if you have something you need to know? i can get you in the general area to work with.

    Enforcement, NOT Amnesty!!!!!!

"If they’re going to come here illegally, apply for & receive assistance through a corrupted Government agency encouraging this lawless behavior, work under the table & send billions of dollars each year back to their families in Mexico, while bleeding local economies dry, protest in our streets waving their Mexican flags DEMANDING rights, while I have to press ’1′ for English, then they need to be shipped back to where they came from!" -Chad Miller
