Hunting groups want initiative changes
Hunting is getting a little more love these days -- or at least a little more respect as an economic engine. Several years ago, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources began the Pennsylvania Wilds initiative. It's a campaign to market opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in the north-central part of the state, which is dominated by state parks and forests, game lands and the Allegheny National Forest. Advertising has touted the region's fishing, hiking and biking trails, canoeing, camping and more.
