Default What happens If a stamp is denied by ATF

5 months ago I bought a gemtec outback 2, after a month at my local LEO, and 4 months and one week ago the ATF cashed my check for the stamp

My questions is this what can I guy do if he is denied a stamp for a NFA item? The ATF site says will will get a refund on the $200 but waht can you do to get the ATF to change there mind?

I'm not saying the ATF denied me (I think they are backed up and I just need to wait more) I have never been in trouble with the law except for a speeding ticket 8 years ago but with Homeland securtiy calling me a terrorist because I'm a vet and a third party guy I wonder what could I do if I am denied

This is my first NFA item

This is why they haven't stopped the NFA thing!
I'd rather be a "has been" than a wannabe!

They have to have a reason to deny you. Doesn't sound like they have one... I personally would call my congress critter and ask them why the treasury department feels entitled to give poor customer service.

Don't worry about being denied. They are just terribly slow. If your paper work was in order when you sent it out it will be fine. That check being cashed is a good sign.

If you can purchase a regular firearm, you can purchase NFA stuff....

call them and check the status, most likely it will suddenly be approved within a week or two..

    Post Good Question.

I too am in the process of purchasing an NFA item.
I went the "trust" route with an attorney.
Forming a "trust" and no CLEO has too sign. NFA items go directly into my trust.
4 months at the ATF. Damn. Our guns are going to be antiques by the time we get them.

If they really want to raise some money, they need to reopen the registry and stand back!
