Nearly 1,000 grams of meth were found during a traffic stop along I-40 on Monday. Combined, the near pure-grade bundles have a value of $40,000.
Agents also stormed the suspect's Albuquerque apartment where they found more than a dozen guns, including AK-47's, handguns and high-capacity magazine clips. Some of the guns are stolen.
"We didn't anticipate finding as many as we did, but we're always on the lookout for firearms," said assistant special agent in charge Kevin Abar.
Two suspects, Terry Connors and Thomas Jones, are in federal custody facing drugs charges. Gun charges could be coming shortly.
