Default At least ten shot at Washington Navy Yard by gunman armed with AR15 rifle

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...hes-loose.html

Initial reports are that two gunmen opened fire this morning at the Washington Naval Yards in Washington D.C.

U.S. Navy has confirmed at least ten victims of shooting at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters in Washington D.C.

One victim is a Washington D.C. police officer

Another is a base officer of the naval base

All of the people wounded are in critical condition, authorities said

Flights at D.C.'s Reagan airport were grounded - but have now resumed

Police have reported that three gunmen, including one wearing camouflage, have shot dead four people - two police officers - and injured another eight this morning at the Washington Naval Yard.

Police have said that at least one of the gunmen, who are said to be armed with AR-15 rifles, has been taken 'down', however it is not clear if he has been arrested or shot.

Two gunmen remain at large and police have said that one of the shooters has been pinned down between the third and fourth floors in Building 197 on the grounds of the naval yard, although this has not been confirmed.

One of the gunmen is not accounted for and hundreds of police, SWAT and FBI rapid response units have descended on the nation's capital to deal with the situation.

In addition the spokesman added that all of the people wounded are in critical condition and have been rushed to nearby hospitals

Initial reports from the scene are that one of the suspects walked up to the facility, opened fire and then ran inside the building.

'We saw him hold the rifle, and we saw him aim it in our direction,' said one witness to Fox News.

Authorities say a base police officer also was seriously injured.

One victim was reported to have been shot on the roof of a building, reported News4's Tony Tull.

A U.S. Park Police helicopter lowered a basket to a building and lifted what appeared to be a shooting victim from the roof just before 10 a.m.

SWAT officers, military police, U.S. Capitol police and Washington city police all rushed to respond.

The Capitol police said they were stepping up security on the Capitol grounds and the White House.

Washington police told WRC that nearby schools were being locked down, and that some bridges were being closed as a precautionary measure.

Emergency personnel are on scene and a 'shelter in place' order has been issued for Navy Yard personnel.

One suspect has been described as a black male, believed to be nearly six feet tall, wearing a black shirt and black hat, WUSA 9 News in D.C. reported.

President Obama has been briefed about the shooting, according to a statement from the White House.

'The President directed his team to stay in touch with our federal partners, including the Navy and FBI, as well as the local officials,' the statement said.

'We urge citizens to listen to the authorities and follow directions from the first responders on site.'

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is the largest of the Navy's five system commands. With a fiscal year budget of nearly $30 billion, NAVSEA accounts for one quarter of the Navy's entire budget.

The Navy Yard is along the Anacostia River in Washington, near the headquarters of the Department of Transportation and the Washington Nationals baseball stadium.

These people sure are making it hard on us law abiding gun owners. I'll say a prayer for the victims and their families.
    Enforcement, NOT Amnesty!!!!!!

"If they’re going to come here illegally, apply for & receive assistance through a corrupted Government agency encouraging this lawless behavior, work under the table & send billions of dollars each year back to their families in Mexico, while bleeding local economies dry, protest in our streets waving their Mexican flags DEMANDING rights, while I have to press ’1′ for English, then they need to be shipped back to where they came from!" -Chad Miller

See that? That damned AR went BERSERKERS and took a poor innocent basturd along with it to go put holes in peoples.
In fact, my H&A UnderHammer is laughing at those ARs for acting like A-Holes.
And HolyKrap. One guy was wearing Camo. I thought Kennedy outlawed that.

A gunman wanted in connection with a Monday morning shooting at the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard that left four people dead and six others wounded has been killed.

There were initial reports of another gunman who might be at large, though those reports began to fade as the morning wore on. NBC News' Pete Williams said at about 11:30 a.m. that there was "no hard evidence" of a second gunman.

Still, a large search, including from helicopters, continues. "It's a large piece of land with many buildings," Assistant D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham told News4. "It's going to take a while to determine that it is safe."

Tactical teams have entered at least two buildings on the Navy Base to search for the shooter, and News4's Mark Segraves reported that three helicopters were seen tightly circling part of the base.

Earlier Monday morning, the gunman walked into Building #197 at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters, 1336 Isaac Hull Ave. in the Southeast section of the District. He shot a security guard in the head, killing him, sources confirmed to News4's Jackie Bensen.

The gunman then walked through the building, and seemed to target victims, Bensen reported. Some reports indicate he was armed with an AR-15, a military-style assault weapon.

D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department and several other law enforcement agencies responded, Bensen said. During that response, a MPD officer was shot in the leg.

The gunman was then shot by a FBI hostage response team, Bensem said.

Washington Hospital Center said the MPD officer was among three victims that had been transported to that hospital. The officer was shot in the legs; one other victim was shot in the shoulder and one was shot in the head and hand.

All are alert and speaking at this time, and there is a "very good chance they will survive," said Dr. Janis Orlowski, chief medical officer at the hospital.

However, the hospital has been prepared to expect more victims.

One victim was reported to be on the roof of a building, reported News4's Tony Tull. A U.S. Park Police helicopter hovering above the scene around 9:50 a.m. lowered a basket to a building and lifted what appeared to be a shooting victim from the roof. The helicopter came back to the scene just after 10 a.m. to retrieve another victim.

But other details were sketchy from the scene. The shots continued to ring out through the morning, including a volley that Tull reported at about 9:20 a.m. and another volley that News4's Mark Segraves heard at about 11 a.m.

Federal and local emergency personnel converged on the scene, "and a shelter in place order has been issued for Navy Yard personnel," the Navy said. Among the responders was a federal SWAT unit.

President Barack Obama is getting frequent briefings about the deadly shooting from senior aides. The White House says Obama directed his team to stay in touch with the Navy, FBI and local officials as the events unfold.

D.C. Public Schools put six schools and one administrative building on lockdown, meaning no visitors or staff may enter or leave the building and recess for students is inside. These schools are affected:

    Amidon-Bowen Elementary School
    Brent Elementary School
    Eastern High School
    Eliot-Hine Middle School
    Jefferson Academy
    Tyler Elementary School
    Van Ness Administrative Building
The following charter schools are also on lockdown:

Eagle Academy PCS - New Jersey Ave.
Friendship PCS Chamberlain Elementary and Middle.
Cesar Chavez PCS for Public Policy - Capitol Hill
Richard Wright PCS for Journalism and Media Arts
    Somerset Prep DC PCS
The 11th Street Bridge and roads in the area are closed.

Metro has also reopened New Jersey Avenue entrance at the Navy Yard station.

The Navy Yard is located in southeast Washington on the Anacostia River. The Navy says 3,000 people work inside the building, including command staff, headquarters directorates and field activities. They coordinate the Naval Sea Systems Command, or NAVSEA, the largest of the Navy's five system commands.

well the get the facts wrong the report the wrong information over and over.

makes me wonder where all the news reporters went to school. no integrity at all.

eventually we'll know what went on after they report the wrong information for months to help obongos agenda.

and the facts will get ignored for the most part by the agenda driven media--

hell this could be another false flag for all we know--

the navy is saying one shooter . he is dead so we will never get the truth . a description of the shooter would be nice.

WASHINGTON -- Multiple people were killed and several more wounded when at least one gunman opened fire Monday at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters, authorities said.

The Navy said "several" people were killed at the Navy Yard. Ed Buclatin, the public affairs chief for the Navy Installations Command, tweeted "four killed and eight injured." He also tweeted that reports of more than one shooter had not been confirmed.

D.C. Police Only Confirming One Shooter For Now, But Note 'Active Scene'
Despite conflicting reports that there are as many as three gunmen loose at the D.C. Navy Yard, a spokeswoman for the Washington Metropolitan Police Department said there is only one confirmed shooter for now.

Still, it's an "active scene," said Metropolitan Police spokeswoman Saray Leon.

Leon also clarified some details on the victims. Ten people have been shot, two of whom are law enforcement officers, she said. One is a D.C. police officer and the other is a federal officer who works on the Navy base.

The police have issued a description of the initial suspect as a black male with a dark complexion, approximately 5'10" to 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, with a black shirt and black hat. The police first received a phone call about gunshots at 8:36 a.m.

Leon said D.C. police may issue a press release and have a media availability later, once the situation has been resolved.
SO it was a black man with a dark complexion . Really VS black men who are not dark ?????????? wow nice work . maybe the other non existant shooter is a long haiored man with short hair who is tall but also short .
