Default Mossberg 930 with Mesa Tactical Stock

Been waiting a while for the stock, finally arrived. Overall the stock is robust and has no drawbacks I can determine. Installation was a breeze, and the hardest part was "convincing" the thread lock on the tube to unscrew. I had to secure the receiver in a vise with wood blocks to gain enough leverage to do so. Surprisingly, the stock comes with a plethora of sling attachments that you can customize to your needs, along with a quick release sling loop.

Showing off with my SPAS-12. Mine is the "home defense" model with a few extras compared to other 930 models... extra large charging handle, ghost/bead sights, extended mag tube. Now with the stock I get:

    - Shorter length of pull, measuring about 9-10", which is perfect for use with cold weather clothing or body armor.

    - Adjustable cheek riser, with "full" stock coverage (try to get good cheek weld with that SPAS folder!)

    - Sling options! Surprised at how many... rear sling loop (both sides), trigger guard sling, trigger guard hook, trigger guard flush (no sling point), and the quick release for the bottom rear or the front handguard.

I must say that having only mounted the stock and not actually shot it yet, I am impressed. Seems like there are a few things that aren't perfect, but not deal breakers:

    - crescent cut-out in shell lifter, which can pinch your finger if you aren't careful.

    - shorter barrel = shorter mag extension, = 1 less round vs. the SPAS

    - fixed stock only due to recoil spring configuration in stock (like an AR or FAL)

    - lack of mounting options. Those rails are a custom installation I installed on the hand guard for the light.

Again, no deal breakers in that list. I am interested in getting this to the range now and giving this stock a bit of range time!

I've been eyeballing the 590A1 forever now, the 50771 version with bayo and lug. I sorta thought about the 930 a few times but never seriously.
After looking at yours, it's officially on the list.

They would have a long time ago, when our government became self serving and lied so openly that the taste of disgust can't be cleared with bleach.

That looks good Pookie!! Definitely want to hear a range report. My first pump shotgun was a Mossberg 500. It was absolutely one of the best firearms I have ever owned. I have been a fan ever since.
    Enforcement, NOT Amnesty!!!!!!

"If they’re going to come here illegally, apply for & receive assistance through a corrupted Government agency encouraging this lawless behavior, work under the table & send billions of dollars each year back to their families in Mexico, while bleeding local economies dry, protest in our streets waving their Mexican flags DEMANDING rights, while I have to press ’1′ for English, then they need to be shipped back to where they came from!" -Chad Miller

Wait 'till you see the vids... Mossberg 930 + Mesa Tactical Stock + 00 Buck we reloaded. Nice and stout loads too! Bottom line - with that stock (even without), the gun is solid. The stock is pretty much perfect. My brother picked it up and his first remark was that the pistol grip is spot-on. The adjustable cheek piece is nice as well! Overall sturdy and seemingly well built. "Just right" LOP and overall ergonomics.

Note that the action requires a new spring for that stock, since the original spring/spring tube is longer than the stock. SO that is with the aftermarket (mesa) spring kit. "It just works".

In the vids, I'm leaning into it. My dad is not, he is just standing up and not really "working" the gun. You can see the difference in the stance (and how much I've gained weight!) to see how it affects overall muzzle rise.

Oh one significant point - the Wolf 00 buck w/ rolled ends = 6 in the tube (extended), and the standard-sized 2.75" loads = 7 in the tube.

Final thing I intend to do with it - I'm going to add a barrel shroud. The barrel heats up pretty fast, and after a few reloads it gets pretty warm

That would be good on my 935 . I use it for deer, geese, HD and 3 gun matches. I am debating between the ATI Skorpion and the Mesa.
