Feds plan to study prairie dogs for possible endangered status

A week after a Colorado state agency refused to ban shooting white-tailed prairie dogs, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Tuesday it will study the rodent to determine if it should be protected as an endangered species.

All this from people that say, "Gee, aren't they cute." And drive home, never having to deal with them on a regular basis.

Like someone else said, "Call them prairie rats and noboby would care what you did to them."

Here in southern utah we have a prairie dog breed that is already protected. It is the most ridiculous thing you have ever seen. the golf course looks like a spong, with hundred of these rats running all over the place. people cant build on their own land without waiting years on a list to have them safely removed. they can only relocate so many a year. it is unbelievable!!!!!
