I haven't look at wally world lately since they didn't have any 22 in stock for a while (or it sold right away). But the few places that had it while I was looking wanted those prices I mentioned, and since I've had at least 6k rounds before all price gouging started I stopped looking and will wait until I know it's getting closer to normal (if that ever happens).

Stalker if someone gets them in around here I'll check it out and will most likely get one to try out. Like you said it might be worth getting as a beater.

Magnum Research has a 10/22 clone that they licensed from Ruger. Theirs uses a lightweight carbon fiber barrel with a steel sleeve. Don't know if it's worth a crap, but it sure looks good.

Those Magnum Research one's are,,,, DANDY,,,just way expensive. They shoot great and have very nice triggers and they hang really nice on me too. It did take a bit to get used to no bull barrel weight hanging out there, but once I got used to that I was deadly with it. My bud and I have back yard competitions @ 50 yards shooting Penney's,, and that was child's play, so we literally put up some tacks on a piece of beaver board and shot at them instead,,,,,literally "Tack Driving". That Mag Research had no issue about doing it either! We were only using Rem "golden Bullets" and it shoots great with them. I don't know what they weigh , but there real light I'm guessing 2 lbs less that a regular bull barrel one???? There really nice if you want a target grade gun to hunt with , that's light. He uses his for squirrels, rabbits and shooting fish.

I haven't owned one,, but ,,I like them ! Just not the price,,,,,,those carbon wrapped replacement barrels are right up there too!!!

Cool info, thanks. At least it's good to know it's a good product. Now about that price......
