I'd think you could look at the picture of one in a tool catalog, and just figure it out. But, for no more than the imported presses costs, I doubt you could save much money after you purchased the jack and the steel for constructing it. I suppose if you have a bunch of steel just laying around you could save a few bucks.

    I got mine here:
    http://www.digiplan.ca/metal/dg20tonpress.htm

Excellent plans in blue print format with materials list. The hardest part will be drilling the 1 1/4" holes for the bed plns. A band saw will made the job a lot easier or have the material cut to size when you buy it. Lots of welding and cutting involved. The WECSOG theory of "why buy when you can build"

    Default press

Well I just copied what I seen at Harbor Freight, sort of. The problem I see with this design is the press ram will move off to one side. The a-frame design looks better, don't know, have not used one. Anyway I will throw in another piece of iron to make it more rigid. I may throw it in the [email protected]#$%^ trash. I have ordered a set of prints which is designed with a hydraulic press ram. Anyone know how to turn a bottle jack upside down? OLDBEAR.
