You need Mapp gas for heat treating rails? You can get it at Home Depot, its the yellow can.

I've even seen MAPP gas at Walmart before. They use the same standard tip as a propane bottle. Check http://www.harborfreight.com for a TIG. They have them fairly cheap.

I prefer the Mapp and 02 tandem arrangement. It cost me about $50, but it gets the rails hot QUICKLY, you can also use it to silver solder the muzzle breaks on the AMD 65 barrels

Preacher, are you sure they use the same tip. I have a propane, and I remember looking when I first got into building and seem to recall that they won't work in both. If they do, that is great though. Propane will do the job too though. I use it all the time, takes a little longer, but the whole setup is cheaper I believe.

A local Menards has them for $34.99 (Oxy/Mapp) and this weekend everything in the store is 11% off. They had them on sale a few weeks ago for $24.99, so keep an eye open.
