    Default Extractor broke

I sold my daughter one of my AR15 builds as a Christmas gift for her boyfriend. I had test fired the weapon last year firing 50 plus TULA steel case .223 thru it. He had just three mags of Federal 5.56 through it at a indoor range when the extractor broke in half. Bummer. Is this uncommon.

Depends on the parts maker. If they stuck an "economy" extractor in there then no big surprise. If it was a mil-spec part from a recognized quality manufacturer then it is very unusual. They do wear out and break eventually but after a few thousand rounds at least!

The only bolts I use are CMP marked.
    Proper extractor,spring,M4 guts.
    Buffer springs,buffer, the usual stuff.
I don't just slap junk together.
I'd rather build fewer quality rifles with spare parts than a bunch of crap.

A complete bolt fits in a M16 pistol grip trapdoor,no problem. An over gassed barrel can fu*ck up the system also.
Buy the TM for the Armourers manual already and learn.

BCGs I buy local from brick and mortar stores. Mostly I have paid between $59.99- $99.99 for them. The last one I bought was marked AIM. Melonite finished and paid $79.95 for it.

I have to agree, I see nothing antagonistic in Railbuggy's post, he has been a member here for a ling time as you have, I think he knows his stuff as I am sure you do. It appears he was trying to explain what he did with his build. Lets try and keep it civil, just a few core members here and I like to see thing stay calm until either the lights go out, or things liven up here a bit with some builds. I may post a ASR build in a bit when I get the time to do it just so we can get the ball rolling again
