Left side ejection, or out the bottom like the Calico? One of the things I like about my Calico, empties drop straight down and you can add a bag to catch them. On the AR lower it would be easy to attach a bag to the bottom of a 20rd mag shell if it ejected out the magwell...

That would require a specially designed bolt. I was hoping to build this with off the shelf stuff... The major point was getting the stock AR-15 hammer to hit the firing pin. And something everyone could pop 2 pins and be ready to run. Might try a downward ejection when a know more about how this design is gonna work...

That would be cool and easy to do with the ejector being on top. You could make it part of the rear sight assy to give it more mass and serviceable if needed.
Love this build, you are definitive on the path to success.

for bottom ejecting guns on the ar platform... i actually use JUST a old 20rnd mag that you just gut out. works great and you dont see a "bag" on the bottom. :-)

Yeah, but with a 100 rd drum on board you'd have to stop a lot to empty out the brass catcher! Add a 20 lb flour sack though...

    LMAO...

im not sure how many that mag would hold.... it will hold a 50rnd mag of empty 5.7x28's from my ar57.. :-)

but what would look really good is a Crown Royal bag under that. Hell Yeah!!
