No prob man. Had pretty much forgot about it. How in the world did colt come up with an H2 anyway? I know the 9mm buffer is solid but the 223 series requires the reciprocating weights to ensure bolt closeure.BTW please just stalker or like SDK does ,stalky. I'm too laid back. Folks used to say I suffered from LBMO syndrome

thanks! it would seem to be logical to weigh it down, shorten the buffer and tube. you would still have the same mass just less length.

I'm sorry dew, just had my last cataract surgery yesterday and was at the docs for a follow up. And no man I haven't gotten it yet. Maybe its the season? I'm looking forward to maybe compress it in the 12 ton press and was wondering if you'd considered that? Maybe with a binder like crazy glue or epoxy? Been thinking about how COLT does there buffers beyond just being cut somehow. Was it sent via mail? The watch list thing was my usual joking. I hope!

    Hi Stalker,

A couple of thoughts here.... Don't go H, go H2. Second thought, look at this:

    http://www.dsarms.com/p-14112-ar15m1...il-buffer.aspx

Adds some wieght, I like the concept.....Buy an H2 buffer, and this kit, and start playing around. I ended up also going with an adjustable Gas Block from Anderson. Between the three components, I have my 18" dialed in. Before I started, I was shooting 62Gr. pills out at about 2900 FPS. After, I am now solidly in the 3100FPS range with "Mil-Spec" ammo, Federal..... Is 200FPS worth around $100? I think so.

This method allows me to do the following:

    1. Very Heavy Buffer / Bolt Carrier combo. Slows things down nicely.
    2. Lots of extra Buffer Weights. Just in case I want to play with 77Gr Pills again.....
    3. I can adjust the gas system to the point where I am only using the amount of gas needed to cycle and lock the bolt back, and then a little extra....
    4. As time goes by, and that pesky gas port gets a little bigger, I can adjust it....

    Just my thoughts....

Spikes Tactical uses sintered powder....i.e. it is bigger than "powder" Works just like an impact hammer. It's OK I suppose. And it does work. I just like to hit all of the issues with my method....
