Default Why do AR pistols cost more

Than a complete rifle? I paid a hundred bucks more for a private sale on a pistol and was just wondering why. No complaints, the pistol runs flawlessly. But why does less materials cost more money? I know i'm over thinking as I tend to do but why??

Why stalker? Well there's a few reasons why they cost more.

    - The AK in pistol form is capable of spewing hot lead at over 12 times the speed of sound. That is faster than Chuck Norris's fist in your jib.
    - It can penetrate more than 4 inches of solid steel.
    - Chicks dig them cause they can carry one in their purse.
    - Men like them cause they will fit in any standard .45 holster.
    - Putting a bayonet on one they become like a wicked good throwing axe.
    - If you run out of ammo it can turn into a good club to smash an opponent's head in.
    - Baby seal hunters love them cause the little things can't see what is coming till it's to late.
    - Downside is they will take yer damn eye out if yer not careful.

Economy of scale. AR15 rifle parts are overstocked everywhere now that the demand has died down a bit, folks are selling them dirt cheap. The pistol parts not so much. Besides, being able to set your opponent on fire from the muzzle blast at close range has to be worth a premium!

If I smoked you could light a cigarette off the thing! Had a Bushmaster ARM in the day and I would take the FH off and shoot the iced over ponds to watch the chunks of ice fly up. Good backstop. I was young.
