Looks like a good deal there MTDEW. I,ve seen them for less on Slickgun, but my ffl guy charges $25 to do transfers.

You did well indeed at $300.

SOG has them for $185-$198., Classic for $210 I think and AIM at $250 & up.
Prices on the Mosin Nagants have climbed and oddly so has the ammo price.

Surplus Longguns (SLG) - Longguns - Southern Ohio Gun

I was a pretty busy accumulator of them and re-snipered a number of the ex-snipers., mostly PU..
But then the originals or refurbed PU's showed up at $550-$750. Doh., those were a deal for anyone wanting a WWII sniper firearm.

I guess I did good then. This one was a dandy though and doubt it was an issue gun and definatly not a rearsinaled one. Seems 250 -275 for a ex condition one with all the accessories in new condition included and all matching #'s is about the norm here nowadays for one.

I don't get why there's such a difference in prices from one area of the country to the other on identical items ?

Gun Show prices tend to be higher than retail internet in most cases unless one gets lucky.
Virtually all imports of the Mosin Nagants are refurbs.
A few exceptions of well used Spanish Civil War (SCW) rifles and Finnish Capture/Trade type.
Some refurb was quite extensive and others not so much. It would require looking at the stampings on each part of the bolt and stock rings etc. to see if the parts were all arsenal stamped as Izhevsk or Tula to denote an all original MN rifle. Very uncommon.

Some are truly nice especially the pre and post war production years.
