    BTW,,stalker ,whats wrong with a X39 for hunting ??

I've knocked down more than 1 deer with the mini 30 I had and with one shot too! I gather there the shits for big hogs? So I've been told anyways.

Yo! TWA! The X39 is next after the retro! Didn't you notice?!My bud Gary is doing me an upper in X39 just like the 5.56 one I got a month or two ago. Even gave me a recommend on which magazines are best. Not a fan of the mini 30, hope it served you well. Sounds like it!!

Ya, my mini 30 shot great,,some did and some didn't from what I read, but I got lucky and got a good one. I sold it years ago,not a fan boy of them either.

The CPD ( C Products Defense) mags are the best for the AR X39's,,,no doubt! They are a bit stiff though with the extra power Wollf springs they come standard with. They can be hard to find too, they sell out fast every where as soon as they hit the shelf.

you musta been typing at the same time I was posting,,,,,

hear you guys... & honestly trying to get away from AR's... other than just a few toys.

AK's are just soooo much more reliable & ive got them in any caliber anyone could want.

one thing about how i do my firearms is that no matter what guns we would grab... we have ammo they can use.

    we stockpile: 22, 22mag, 5.45, 5.7, TOK, 9mm, 45, 7.62(39 &54r), 8mm & 50bmg

but 7.62x39 is a pretty universal round unless you are a pretend sniper making half mile shots. nothing ive ever hunted got any farther than x39 could reach.

I really like the idea of 30carbine in the AR line. Got the ammo and magazines so why not? Should be fun. Worked with a guy that said he did a snap shot at 250yards with his 30-30 on a running deer jumping over the Radford Arsenal fence. Anything's possible.

^^^ Stalky already knows this from our conversations... but originally i was gonna do an AK in 30carbine like i posted here & at WG.

but this happened so fast that the barrel showed up for it & BAM! this was together & running.

i'll probably still do the AK in the fall.
