Default Why you shouldnt use pipe to make a shotgun Barrel

I always enjoy watching the home builder but some times the idea of creative home building makes the mistake that any ole piece of pipe can be used to make a shotgun barrel.

The youtube video below shows one such attempt. The builder (unknown to me) spent the time working out his design only to have the side of the barrel blowout. Out hobby may be great but common sense is a must.

This is one I never wanted to try brokengun. I think I would have least used DOM. 4130 or 40. Good vid. And a lesson.

YUP.... nothing wrong with DOM or good seemless.. but black iron seems to always lead to failure.

nice design, good building skill and effort, why in the world use a seamless pipe, when numrich had a million barrels he easily could have modified his design around the barrel

anyway seem like he has all his finger I would have enjoyed the video better but for the heavy metal

You guys share my concerns why go through the trouble of building a decent designed firearm and then use a piece of pipe for a barrel.

A used barrel or a piece of DOM tubing would have did the job.
