    Default Z_Recto strikes again!

This time with a beautiful color-matched buttstock to go with my Russian foregrip. This is my "beater" Romy from the Weaponeer IO group buy last Spring (or last Winter?). I intend this to be a beater rifle, but darned it looks real nice. I was real sloppy in construction (it was to be a beater, after all) so the grind marks from where I welded the rails are evident. You have to look close to see them, but they are there. Other than that, however, the build is 100%. My GF looked at it and said "ooooohhhhh that's sooo pretty!!!!" Hrm... a "pretty beater".

You need to tell her what does she expect, you have excellent taste, and you like beautiful women and ...... ah... pretty rifles!! But that is a nice "beater".

LOL thanks! I'll tell her you said that - I know it'll make her day.

You know I was thinking about "antiquing" it like they do furniture by dragging my boat anchor chain over it, or something similar, but now I think I'm just going to leave good enough alone. If I scratch it, I won't lose any sleep over it.

This is an IO Romy kit I bought through the weaponeer GB way back when, and it was missing the cleaning rod. So now I need to find a cleaning rod for cheap. It bugs me not having a cleaning rod on an AK!!!

Rifle is pretty, but the girlfriend is prettier

Hope that makes her day twice!

She appreciates the compliments! I think she's a bit embarrassed - she's one of those that are always hard on themselves... never takes compliments well. It can get frustrating trying to convince them that Maybeline and Mary Kay don't have all the answers, but what can you do? I just tell her that its what is on the inside that counts, and that makes her outside beautiful in my eyes.

I just realized that you can also see the picture my mom painted for me when my dog passed away this fall.
