I'm toying with the idea of doing an 80% 1911 build just for something different. Who's jig is considered the best?
What about 80% frames, anybody to stay away from? Any advise would be appreciated.

Chief according to the crew over here at Tactical Machining their easier to do than the 80% ARs. Hell I watched my buddy do the AR receiver and that was not all that difficult. Their out of stock here so I guess people are buying them up?

I've still got a couple of the 80% frames I got from Sarco years ago. They must be stainless or they would be red by now:) General consensus is do an aluminum frame for the first go around and stealth arms like earnie said. Try to get one that has the more difficult cuts done like the mag catch and msh.hth.I was thinking about doing one in 22lr first.4th the AR ones are at the gunshows now. Got another one yesterday to. Go along with X39 magazines I bought.

Thanks for the info guys.

Tim, I had been leaning toward the TM jig/frame but they never seem to have them in stock.
