VIS, I am impressed. You have put a lot of thought into your design, not to mention a lot of work.

It looks like I will have to come over to Gunco.net more often. It seems no one is interested in building bullpups on the AK.net. It appears my Shadowpup is the last bullpup built by AK.net members.

I hadn't realized there were so many "shadetree gunsmiths" on Gunco.net. I am about as "shadetree" as they come. :) Although I do have a number of designs to my credit.

Unfortunately for me, I have sold my shop, and home, it may be a while before I get another built. Heck, I haven't even decided what state I am going to wind up in yet.

Are you going to use a Sten magazine to convert a SOUMI 71-rd drum to fit your 9mm bullpup? It certainly would make it look even more evil!

Oh Crap" I guess I better get my ass in gear and finish the job. I put it on the back burner, you know how it is "so many toys, so little time"......:hyper:
Oh yes, I certainly know that! :D Let's see... Bizon helix mags; Groza bullpup parts and linkage; .308 conversion; US-built bolt carrier; US-built '74 floorplates; US-built folder buttstocks; more DIY tool designs; 6.5 Grendel project; .50 Beowulf project; hrm what else? And those are only my AK projects! LOL

Problem with drums on a bullpup is your shoulder gets in the way, unless you have a side-facing drum like those plastic snail drums for the AR & Mini-14 (not the Beta mag, the other plastic one).

If you DO convert a drum, you'll need to cut off the feed lips from the drum, cut off and use the top of a stick mag and weld it to the mouth of the drum. You'll most likely also need to add a few dummy rounds too. When you're done it will look like those Uzi and MAC converted drums. I think I've even seen a drum converted for an MP-5 in this fashion. I know I've seen some pistol mags converted to accept a drum. It looked unweildy but was very cool looking.

I want to do one for my Uzi, but the number of dummy rounds needed would make it not worthwhile IMO. I'd have to put that into a different design. So for now my drum sits on the shelf waiting for a suitable donor rifle. :)
