1) Would a Tapco Flat's magwell be oversized for an AK74?
2) How easy would it be to use a Tapco flat as a template to make your own flats?

I haven't tried an AK-74 mag yet, but I see no reason why you couldn't use it as a pattern to make others.

Once the home shop gets up and running (which will be about another month maybe) I'm going to give it a shot. I figure I can always resize the magwell on a metal template/jig to make new flats for 74s. I'm hoping the home building learning curve won't be to sharp on me. I'm not the most mechanically inclined individual, but I figure I can waste a few dollars on some sheet metal for practice.
