After I got back from the range yesterday I was by myself cleaning up my guns in the garage.

A thought struck me that I can't get rid of.

I am betting that Colin Powell with be the Democratic nominee for President.

I'm sure the Dems would love to have him, but I don't think he would be interested. I don't know why I think that, I just do.

Nope, he don't want any, plus his wife said no way, no how.

That's what I read long time ago, in fact the only reason he agreed to his present job is because you never say "no" to the President, but he and his wife both wished to be out of the public eye.

3 years from now I bet there will be some irresistable appeals to his ego. Especially if there are ongoing problems in Iraq and elsewhere with the American public's will and attention span waning.

I think he is waaay to far to the middle and in some areas waaay over on the right. That would make him a bad Democratic nominee for President.

the fringe groups that run the DNC would never hear of it.

I am not sure we know all of his political views when it comes to non-military matters.

He could be the perceived move to the middle that the DNC must have.

He listens to his wife and she is dead set against it.

I've heard that wife stuff reported but I don't take it as gospel.

I'd never be buying another firearm if I listened to everything my wife was against.

I have watched him on T.V., state that he doesn't want to run for an elected office. He didn't want his family subjected to the scrutiny and mudslinging that has become so popular in American politics.

Does not seem to bother anyone in the Powell family that Michael is Chairman of the FCC and fairly controversial since his appointment.

Doubt it. He was the darling of the lefties, including this one, until he sold out his principles in support of the invasion of Iraq. Had he resigned instead, he would then have become a contender, though.
