I would think it would be fun to make a small AMD65 in 410 or .20 gauge.

AMD-65 length shotgun would be fun AND illegal... Make that barrel legal length!

He has Saiga bolts and a carrier right on the index page. By the time you're done buying parts, you probably could have bought a complete shotgun. Saiga 20 and 410 are available on Gunbroker starting around $200+.

i am not a shotgunner but do have an itch to get one of those saiga's.
what do you guys recommend 410 or 20 for the recoil sensitive.

A friend has a ruptured disk in his back and was impressed by the lack of recoil of my Saiga 410. But like most people he thinks the 410 is a kids gun so he bought a Saiga 20 gauge. Even with light dove loads it kicked to much so he gave it to his son. Everytime we go shooting he asks me to bring my Saiga 410 as he can't shoot any of his Mauser rifles but his 6.5x55mm rifle a few rounds before it starts to hurt him. So we mostly shoot pistols and of course the soft kicking Saiga 410.

thanks for that vote I am leaning more towards the 410 as I want a gun I can shoot with regularity and not get beat up.

I think it would be a fun gun to have.

I like my SPAS-12. Not an AK, but lots of fun pistol-gripping 9 rounds of double-00 downrange. Pistol-gripping it isn't really that bad, either. Surprisingly less than you'd think. After just a little bit of practice, I feel my firing discipline is steady to the point that I feel comfortable using it for real.

Reload is a bugger - so its pretty much an entry weapon or home defense (basing on the "average" 2-second gun engagements) but you'll be sure to get them "all" with that sucker!

A couple things I gotta say about this -

I like the AMD front-pistol grip idea on the shotgun - very interesting idea.

This would have extremely limited application in the LE world. Tactical entry, etc. must always consider collateral damage like the passed-out crack whore bent over the sofa in the same room as the dope pusher they are trying to arrest. "oops I shot the crack whore while shooting at the dope pusher" is a bad thing for LE public image. Then again, military could probably find use in this when raiding things like Osama Tunnels in Afghanistan. Which brings me to my next point -

No GUN CONTROL here - that big fella could barely keep the shots on the side of a MINI VAN so I know a skinny little guy like me is going to be throwing lead all over the street in front of the bank. If a horde of commie bastard zombies were coming my way, OK, but *DARN* that looks like an unweildy weapon. And I thought my SPAS-12 was unweildy!!!! Needs a muzzle brake to be sure. This is one application where I can see a huge unweildy (and HEAVY) weapon making more sense. Thus the USAS-12 could be a better solution, IMO. Semi-auto to be sure, but possibly a better solution.

Since this is for LE/Military, they need to make a spiral-wind 25 round drum for that sucker, ala USAS-12 drum mags. Now THAT would be a crowd pleaser.

I would choose slugs for most situations. IMO that would be the best solution with this type of weapon. FA 12-gauge slugs (even saboted slugs) would provide enough lead downrange. I know, I know, ammo selection is an age-old argument where everyone is wrong and everyone is right so I don't expect anyone to agree w/ this point.

What's up with the teddy bear? They have issues with cute cuddly animals?

Yeah it kinda threw the big guy around, but the 20ga looked managable for smaller guys... I guess there is just something cool about blowin up small woodland creatures, even if they are stuft

Enjoy guys its really easy to convert these and they are so damn fun to shoot no kick whatsoever sorry about the fuzzy pics but I couldnt find any batteries whatsoever Guess I'll just blame the kids. I was wanting some input from you guys as well i ahve an extra gas block and stuff what do u think about an exact copy of an ak with regualr sight and handguards or should I leave it because the
sight would look odd on a shotgun tell me waht u think

You should be able to install a bulgarian AK-74 kit on a siaga 410. The AK74 brake will probably need to be modified for 45 cal.

You can buy them that way in Russia.
