I will be selling the barrel assembly from my K-Var AK-74 kit soon for $125.00 plus shipping.. Any takers? I purchased an RPK 74 barrel assembly from K-Var and will build my AK-74 as an RPK 74. I have a buttstock from an RPD coming from Poland. Can this be made into an RPK buttstock???

RPD to RPK? No, I don't think so. The RPD has a metal flange on the end. Here's a few pics:

You are correct there.....not the same! I have an new RPK stock set coming from Inter-Ordnance. I have never ordered from them before. I hope it works out ok.
